EMISA stands for European Maritime Independent Suppliers Association.
The Association is a non-profit organization located in Belgium and governed by the Belgium Law.
The aim of EMISA is to look after the commercial, economical and strategic interests of its members, both collective and individual.
Furthermore EMISA strives to actively support the interests of the members at national and international organizations, involved in legislation in respect of the products and services offered by the members. As such, EMISA endeavors to be invited as NGO with relevant IMO meetings. She will also defend the interests of her members world wide.
Last but not least EMISA wants to become known for quality, reliability and service. The EMISA quality mark will make it easier for potential customers to identify reliable alternatives to the equipment maker.
Members only can join on invitation with the support of at least two existing members and should accept and follow the code of Ethics of EMISA.
The Association shall consist of founding members, members, associated members, sponsors and honorary members.
The Association is managed by a Board composed of minimum three and maximum five members.
